One Christmas down. Two to go.
We are celebrating Christmas in three different places this year. First. we had a humble little celebration here in our tiny apartment. Next we are heading over to my parents house to spend part of Christmas with them. (The first Christmas I have been home for in three years!) And after that we are headed to my Nana’s house to spend the rest of Christmas with her and the rest of my family. (The first Christmas I have spent with her in thirteen years! Thanks to massive family drama.) I have been stressing about today for a long time because my mom doesn’t know that I am back in contact with my Nana and when she does find out, I am not sure how she will take it. But you know what, I don’t care. I am an adult now and I should be able to speak to whomever I want without fearing what certain people will think about it. (It’s a very complicated situation that I will maybe blog about at a later time.) Anyways. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or whatever it is that you celebrate. Enjoy your day!
Birthday present, lost in the mail.
So my 25th birthday is this coming Monday and my husband was kind enough to order me a calligraphy kit for the occasion. (I have been wanting to learn calligraphy for a while now!) Upon tracking in through the USPS website, we were informed that my present was supposedly delivered (this past) Monday. I went down to the mailbox excited to retrieve my new pens. When I got to my mailbox, there was a little pink slip of paper waiting for me to let me know that I had a package in the office. I nearly skipped through the office doors to claim my package. The package that awaited me was not my calligraphy set, but rather a Lamy Safari fountain pen that my husband also ordered for my birthday. Excited to have at least one of my pens in hand I went back home to try it out. (Review coming next week!) I told Chris that the office did not have my calligraphy kit and while we were both a little disappointed we were sure that it would arrive within the next couple of days. Every day this week I have anxiously awaited picking my daughter up from the bus stop, not just to see her but also to check the mail to see if my kit had arrived yet. Every day I have been disappointed. I called the office to have them double check that my package was not there. And then Friday I went in to have them check again. The lady at the front desk informed me that she could track down my package and find out what had happened to it. So I gave her the tracking number and waited for her to call. I waited an hour. Nothing. I waited another hour. Nothing. Finally I gave up and called the office myself. No answer. I became discouraged and decided to track it myself. I called the USPS customer service line and a very nice guy was very surprised because when he tracked the package he got the message that it was delivered as well. So now they are launching an investigation (how official does that sound?) into my lost package. I should be hearing back from them soon. I have a case number and everything.
. I hope they are able to find it because I really can’t wait to start learning calligraphy!
